Welcome to Halal Ribfest! By accessing or using any part of the Halal Ribfest website (www.halalribfest.com) or participating in any of our events, you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms and conditions. Please review them thoroughly. If you do not agree with these terms, you should not use our website or participate in our events.

1. General Terms

1.1 Purpose:

Halal Ribfest provides an authentic “Halal” experience, showcasing the best ribs, BBQ, and street food from local vendors. We combine food, shopping, games, and other festivities to create an engaging and memorable experience.

1.2 Privacy Policy:

Your privacy is important to us. Our privacy practices comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (“PIPEDA”) and the Canadian Standards Association Model Code for the Protection of Personal Information.

2. Attendees

2.1 Ticket Purchases:

All tickets must be purchased through our official channels. All sales are final, and no refunds will be provided unless the event is canceled without a rescheduled date.

2.2 Halal Ribfest Ticket Usage Terms and Conditions:

Welcome to Halal Ribfest! By purchasing and using a ticket to gain admission to the event, you ("the Holder") agree to the following terms and conditions established by Halal Ribfest ("the Issuer"):

Prohibited Items

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees, the following items are prohibited at the event and venue:

- Weapons of any kind (including knives, bats, guns, hammers, axes, tasers, pepper spray)

- Bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, scooters, carts, or personalized motorized vehicles (except for wheelchairs)

- Illegal substances or drug paraphernalia

- Alcohol, marijuana, cannabis or any other drugs

- Pets (except service dogs)

- Oversized beach/golf umbrellas

- Hard-sided coolers, suitcases, or any personal bags larger than 12" x 12" x 6"

- Glass containers

- Unauthorized vending, soliciting, or sampling of any kind

- Professional video, audio recording, or photography equipment

- Gang-related paraphernalia (colors, symbols, etc.)

- Fireworks, open flames, or noxious substances

- Sport equipment (including but not limited to beach balls, volleyballs, soccer balls, footballs, baseballs)

- Squirt guns or water toys, tents, megaphones, air horns, or other noisemaker devices

- Non-collapsible chairs

- Any other items prohibited by house policies, legal, or insurance requirements

Entry and Compliance

- Admission is subject to compliance with applicable laws, bylaws, regulations, facility rules, event rules, and issuer rules ("the Rules").

- Tickets are invalid if the wristband is removed or tampered with.

- Staff and management reserve the right to refuse entry or eject patrons based on clothing, apparel, gang/group/political colors and symbols, and behavior deemed inappropriate or offensive.

- All bags will be searched before entry, and only bags fitting the above criteria will be accepted. Diaper bags and bags for medical purposes are exceptions.

- The Holder consents to a reasonable examination of their person and property to ensure compliance with the Rules.

- Individuals demonstrating signs of intoxication will not be allowed entry and may be ejected from the event.

Assumption of Risk

- The Holder voluntarily acknowledges and assumes all risks related to the event, including personal injury, property loss, or damage arising from any cause whatsoever.

- By attending the event, the Holder acknowledges they are participating to experience the Halal Ribfest and sample food items from exhibiting vendors.

- The Holder assumes all risks related to participation and releases from liability the Issuer, the event, the venue, and their affiliates, officers, directors, employees, volunteers, exhibitors, and agents from any claims related to such risks.

Image and Likeness

- By attending, the Holder consents to the use of their image or likeness by the Issuer for any transmission or reproduction of the event.

Modifications

- The Issuer reserves the right to make changes to the rules at any time without prior notice.

2.3 Event Conduct:

Attendees must respect the festival’s code of conduct, which includes no harassment, violence, or inappropriate behavior. Anyone violating this conduct may be removed without refund.

2.4 Liability:

Halal Ribfest is not responsible for any personal injuries, theft, or damage to personal property that may occur during the event.

3. Employees

3.1 Employment Terms:

Employment at Halal Ribfest is subject to our internal policies and procedures, which include confidentiality agreements and adherence to our code of conduct.

3.2 Conduct:

Employees must act professionally and uphold the values of Halal Ribfest. Any misconduct may result in disciplinary action, including termination.

4. Partners

4.1 Partnership Agreements:

All partners must enter into a formal agreement that outlines the terms of the partnership, including sponsorship details and mutual obligations.

4.2 Intellectual Property:

Any use of Halal Ribfest branding or trademarks by partners must be pre-approved by our marketing team. Unauthorized use may result in termination of the partnership.

5. Vendors

5.1 Vendor Applications:

Applications for vendors are open and subject to approval by the Halal Ribfest team. Accepted vendors must comply with our halal standards and food safety regulations.

5.2 Fees and Payments:

All vendor fees must be paid in full prior to the event date. Failure to make timely payments may result in forfeiture of the vendor space.

5.3 Code of Conduct:

Vendors are expected to maintain a clean and safe booth and treat customers with respect. Any form of discrimination or misconduct will not be tolerated and may result in expulsion from the event.

6. Suppliers

6.1 **Supply Contracts**: Suppliers must enter into legally binding contracts with Halal Ribfest, detailing the products or services to be provided, delivery schedules, and payment terms.

6.2 Quality Assurance:

All supplied products must meet the quality standards set by Halal Ribfest. Substandard or non-compliant products may be rejected, and suppliers may be held liable for any resulting damages or delays.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Ownership:

All content on the Halal Ribfest website, including text, graphics, logos, and images, are the property of Halal Ribfest and are protected by applicable copyright laws.

7.2 Use of Content:

Users may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content from the Halal Ribfest website without prior written permission from Halal Ribfest.

8. Limitation of Liability

8.1 Disclaimer:

Halal Ribfest provides the website and its services on an "as is" basis without any warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the website will be available uninterrupted or error-free.

8.2 Indemnification:

Users agree to indemnify and hold Halal Ribfest harmless from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses that may arise from their use of the website or participation in events.

General Ground Rules and Code of Conduct for Halal Ribfest

To ensure an enjoyable and safe experience for everyone attending the Halal Ribfest, the following ground rules and code of conduct are strictly enforced:

General Ground Rules:

1. Be Respectful and Kind:

Smile, be kind, and respect everyone. We are all here to enjoy and have fun!

2. Parking:

Street parking only. Do not block driveways or park in unauthorized areas. Unauthorized vehicles are subject to being towed at the owner’s expense.

3. No Pets:

Pets are not allowed on the festival grounds, except for service animals with proper ID.

4. Outside Food and Beverages:

No outside food and/or beverages are allowed. Enjoy the diverse food offerings within the festival.

5. Prohibited Items:

No alcohol, cannabis, illegal drugs, weapons, or fireworks are allowed.

6. Unauthorized Vending:

Unauthorized vending is not permitted.

7. Transportation Devices:

Bicycles, scooters, skateboards, and similar devices are not allowed inside the festival grounds.

8. Environmental Respect:

Please use garbage and recycling containers to help keep the grounds clean.

9. Photograph/Video Use:

The Halal Ribfest Management and its media partners reserve the right to use any photograph/video taken at the event without express written permission. However, attendees may not use footage for marketing or promotional purposes.

Code of Conduct:

1. Dress Code:

Clothing or accessories that may cause a disturbance are prohibited. This includes items displaying crude, vulgar, hateful, profane, sexually suggestive, or discriminatory content, as well as gang-related attire. Shirts and footwear must be worn at all times.

2. Behavior:

Lewd, drunken, disruptive, or inappropriate behavior, as determined by festival staff, will result in immediate removal from the festival grounds.

3. Language:

Profane or vulgar language is strictly prohibited. This is a family-friendly event, and respectful language is expected at all times.

4. Substance Use:

Smoking tobacco products and vaping are only permitted in designated areas outside the festival grounds. The use of cannabis and alcohol is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal.

5. Respect for Others:

Any abusive or offensive behavior towards other attendees, staff, or vendors will not be tolerated and will result in immediate removal from the festival grounds.

6. Footage and Privacy:

Attendees are welcome to record video for personal use only. It is crucial to respect the privacy of others and refrain from sharing any footage that includes identifiable individuals without their consent.

7. Compliance:

Non-compliance with the ground rules, ticket usage terms, and vendor terms may result in denial of admittance or removal from the festival property.

Refund Policy

General Refund Policy

No refunds will be issued for any purchases or bookings.

Specific Ticket Refund Policy

Tickets for Halal Ribfest, purchased through tickets.halalribfest.com or any of our ticket partners including but not limited to Eventbrite, Rescounts and Facebook Events, cannot be returned or refunded, except in the following scenarios:

  • The festival is canceled by the organizers
  • Government health measures such as COVID-19 lockdowns that directly affect the festival's occurrence.
  • Other exceptional scenarios as determined by Halal Ribfest representatives.
  • In such cases, refunds will be automatically issued to attendees. Booking and transaction fees will not be refunded.

Ticket Transfer Policy:

If an attendee cannot make it to Halal Ribfest, they can give their ticket to someone else. The transfer of the ticket is the responsibility of the original ticket holder, and Halal Ribfest will not be involved in the process. The new attendee must present the transferred ticket at the entrance to gain entry to the festival.

Booth Booking Refund Policy

Booth bookings for Halal Ribfest, made via Rescounts, are non-refundable except in the following scenarios:

  • Event cancellation by the organizers.
  • Government health measures such as COVID-19 lockdowns that directly affect the event.
  • Other exceptional scenarios as determined by Halal Ribfest representatives.
  • Refunds will exclude booking and transaction fees.

Merchandise Refund Policy

Merchandise purchased via shop.halalribfest.com is non-returnable and non-refundable unless:

  • The item received is defective or damaged. Proof of defect or damage must be provided.
  • Incorrect item was shipped in error. Returns must be initiated within 30 days of receipt.
  • Refunds for merchandise will be processed once the item is received and inspected. Shipping costs are non-refundable.

Additional Scenarios for Halal Ribfest Refund Policy

Halal Ribfest can consider the following additional scenarios for including in their refund policy:

Weather-Related Cancellations:

In case of extreme weather conditions that result in the cancellation of the festival.

Artist or Key Performer Cancellation:

If a headlining artist or key performer cancels and this significantly impacts the event's lineup.

Error in Transaction:

If a genuine error occurs during the transaction (e.g., double booking), a refund may be authorized upon verification.

Accessibility Issues:

Attendees who cannot access the event due to last-minute infrastructural issues at the venue.

Legal Restrictions:

If new legal restrictions are imposed that prevent the event from occurring in its planned format.
